Francis "Franny" Iqyan Al-Noor

✿ go back ✿

People-pleaser, mind-reader, mood-swinger with the tendency to dissociate from reality at the slightest worry.

Franny's life carried him along in a cycle. Beginning with the sort of femininity you see on Disney princesses, quickly morphing into a serious of shameful, traitorous and isolating events that led to a forced front of masculinity and empty charisma... before gradually finding peace in an energy both masculine and feminine: fatherhood.

Franny always knew he wanted children. At first, he wasn't sure why (who would be, after knowing his own parents?); but after obtaining Von, it became clear that his heart just wanted something innocent and vulnerable to feast on. His entire life, it had been salivating.

He loves his brother Matthias for this realisation. The little scientist. They made two children and found the third. They're like precious vases to Franny's home.

To fulfil his creative spirit and earn money on the side, Franny does drag. At boarding school he was named "Frangipani" by his closest friend, Sandro, and occasionally he goes by a similar name for drag shows. In his free time, he maintains the house garden (the importance of which he learned from managing the gardening store), bakes cakes, and when he masturbates, he lusts over the gleam of a knife he keeps in his bedroom. Sometimes, he thinks about his creations; other times he grabs ahold of Matthias when he arrives home and forces him to participate.

Their uncle visits sometimes, but he is a creep, so Von, Ommie and Rhyn are locked away when he's near. Although Von isn't nearly as vulnerable due to his robotic qualities.

They're a happy family; despite his insatiable spirit, Franny truly wouldn't want it any other way.

The Kids

Rhyn

An excitable, agile creature with long, heavy rabbit ears and perpetual milk teeth. Spends most of his time bounding around the house and butting his nose into everything, his curiosity peeking through in a squeaky, feminine voice. He was created under Franny and Matthias's hands while the pair had custody of a very troublesome albino hare, and Franny's paternal instincts were infatuated with this toddler he'd met outside the town's daycare, teary-eyed, lost, often wearing tattered or little clothing. Neglect. Franny doesn't trust that most parents care to know what they're doing, and most of the time he is right.

The sky was fading to a deep orange, so Franny picked the little thing up and took him home, much to Matthias's annoyance. There, he realised that the boy had only one tooth at the front of his mouth, despite being five years old.

The brothers liked this, this sign of God's neglect, of defectiveness, in this child's short life. They medicated the boy to sleep, after which Matthias went to check on the hare only to report that its life had mysteriously ended (yeah, okay), and its body parts were ready for immediate use. It took them 9 hours to sew the hare's ears over the boy's real human ones, and another 31 to figure out what was wrong with the boy's teeth, create a mold for the new ones that Franny would be giving him, and then drill holes into his gums that would allow the synthetic teeth to be placed inside. They kept his one original tooth, though.

When the boy awoke, he had hardly any memories of his previous life and loved his ears, believing when Franny told him he was part bunny, though the bases did feel a bit sore. And so did his gums. They hurt so much, a dull, throbbing pain that spread through his whole face.

But when he cried, Franny held him so tightly. That was the first time Rhyn ever uttered the word, "Dad."

A heartwarming story, maybe, but Franny's patience for tears is neverending—the synthetic teeth don't need to be removed but they can be, easily. Replaced, too. So, once a month, a wide-awake Rhyn has his teeth removed, cleaned, and put back in place. He's good at handling pain the way most boys aren't.

Ommie

Ommie was never human to begin with—a lost and vulnerable offspring of two octopus people—and was found clinging to the hem of Franny's pants when he was no bigger than a fingernail. He was born smaller than usual, with impaired vision that eventually led to blindness, and his eyes need careful maintenance to prevent infection. Now, he stands at around 3 feet (minus the eight orange tentacles) and has always expressed a depressive, shy, easily irritable personality. Although he craves Franny's presence because he is the only person who can sense how badly Ommie desires love and parental care, he finds himself straying from common ways of thinking and often has fantasies of trashing the house, running away and becoming an outsider since he feels so much like one already.

Deep down, he has a heroic mindset and feels satisfied when he helps people or saves them from potential danger. The only thing is, is that he would so much rather spend time ruminating at the bottom of the bathtub, his entire body submerged so that Franny will worry and let him sling on his back as he makes dinner.

Ommie and Rhyn always seem to be fighting for Franny's attention, which Franny loves, but of course it leads to trouble. Ommie doesn't like Rhyn at all, while Rhyn despises the texture of Ommie's skin and the residue his tentacles leave behind. However, they can both be won over with a simple compliment.
