Franny and Matthias' Creation Synastry

One thing I want to explore on this page is synastry. Since I don't want to make judgements on a real person's chart, I will be practising on the charts of my OCs when they were created (not their birthdays). This is their aspect table! I am using these two because Matthias came significantly earlier but they ended up being very closely related. Perhaps some astrology can show an indication of this happening.

First off... lots of trines! Many conjunctions and sextiles too! Now what I want to do is find out where these trines are occurring and what that means. Since these two are siblings, I'm going to look at the 3rd and 4th houses first (houses of siblings and home, respectively), and see what's going on for each of them!

Franny's Saturn is in his 4th house. Saturn is the planet of limitations, restriction and hard work. It is extremely fitting that he spends his entire life trying to make a family of his own... with his brother. Franny's Saturn is squaring Matthias' Venus, which makes me think that the ways in which Matthias expresses/receives love will feel restricted by Franny's overbearing nature. This is a very telling sign that Franny is older and more experienced than Matthias, and has that paternal sort of power over him. On the other hand, Matthias' Saturn is in his 3rd house of siblings and communication, which already indicates struggles at a young age, when one is likely living with and learning from their siblings—and not to mention that it also conjuncts Franny's Pluto. Pluto is a planet of power struggles and secrets. A conjunction is an intense concentration of energy. Neither are in the 8th house but this is a strong indication that there was some power struggle or abuse from older men happening in Matthias's early life. As both Matthias' Saturn and Franny's Pluto are in Capricorn, this indicates the business that I created for them, showing that they have the ability to work well together (which they do!). However, that power struggle is always present and Matthias's delays in education and social skills are quite beneficial to Franny, as he relies on Matthias being the "lesser" of the two, the one who needs more nurturing and babying even if Matthias himself doesn't feel that way.

Regarding their love for each other. Both of their Venuses square the other's. Franny's is in Leo, while Matthias' is in Scorpio. I don't know if these signs typically work together, but let's look at the houses to see where this square is happening. Franny's is in the 10th house of reputation and career, and Matthias' is in the 12th house of the subconscious. I get the impression that Franny's enterprising nature and love of showing off has made Matthias' reserved and secretive desires feel unsafe. This is probably what causes that stress in their relationship where Franny is desperate to keep Matthias secret and hidden, because he doesn't exactly know what Matthias actually wants—just that Franny's extravagant way of showing love is apparently not it. Franny's Mars in Leo also indicates an intense devotion towards whatever he's passionate about, so it makes sense that he will go to the end of the earth to reciprocate or tend to Matthias' needs as best he can. As if Franny is presenting both as a king to the world and a slave to those he loves.

Matthias's Sun in is his 12th house. The Sun is the planet that holds your life force, your drive, and when it is hidden away in the house of subconscious and mystery, it is easy to be overlooked or seen as a "reactor" and not a generator in social situations. This means that his Sagittarius Sun could bring about recklessness and danger, but these reckless acts will be ignored by others. But! Franny's Leo Venus will show a special attentiveness and care to Matthias that he likely won't experience from other people. It's like he's the only person in Franny's world, and he loves that attention even if he's comfortable being invisible as well. This makes even more sense considering that Matthias' Sun and Mercury (both in 12th) are in Franny's 1st house of self—Franny is overtaken by Matthias' mysterious presence. They become close; siblings, partners, living together always, as if completing a cycle.

Matthias' Mars is in Aries, the strongest place for Mars to be, and this shows when Matthias becomes angry, passionate or emotional. He can be impulsive and self-assured, happy to make a strong impression with his emotions, while Franny's Cancer Sun prefers more reserved and intimate reactions. These two placements square each other. Matthias views Franny as a father figure, maybe one who is too soft, while Franny becomes unnerved by Matthias' reactions and doesn't understand how to nuture him. A fundamental misunderstanding.

Now I'll have a look at their Ascendants, because they're quite fun and complex. The Ascendant (Asc) shows who you are "meant" to be; what all your hard work in life will ideally result in. It is the opposite of your Descendant, which is often referred to as an indication of what you learnt in your past life—hence what you need to let go of in this one, because those skills won't help you now as they did back then. The Asc can also align with physical appearance. So, Franny's "goal" in life based on his Scorpio Asc (ruler of Scorpio is Pluto, which is in the 3rd house and in Capricorn), might be something along the lines of "learning to manage his education and mental abilities in a way that helps others succeed or gain". The Asc on its own indicates that he might naturally come across as secretive, guarded or scheming, even if charismatic. This doesn't mean that he needs to "get rid" of these traits; just that they will help him to achieve his goal if used correctly and not for the purpose of achieving the more comfortable life path of the Descendant, which he has already lived and learned from. Matthias' Sagittarius Asc (ruler of Sagittarius is Jupiter which is in the 2nd house of value and possessions, and in Capricorn) may indicate a goal that is like "learning to express himself authentically and inspiring people with his luck, but to be more cautious". His Sagittarius Asc gives the impression that Matthias is lucky, unique and exciting, but not focused on mingling with others. People may subconciously let him have his way even if they wouldn't do the same for someone else. But this is his gift—this is what he needs to embrace and not become frustrated by.

Matthias' Asc trines Franny's Venus and Mars. This creates harmony between Matthias' natural style, and Franny's desires, which may produce sexual attraction. The fact that Franny's Asc and Matthias' Venus are both in Scorpio also creates lust and attraction, perhaps on a more surface level but it is very strong. Another lovely thing that indicates the desire these two have for each other is the fact that Matthias' Asc and Franny's Venus are both fire signs. Signs of the same element are usually very happy together. Franny wants to create fire for his lover and Matthias wants to burn for his.

However, the opposition of Matthias' Asc to Franny's North Node (a similar meaning to the Asc) creates a push-pull dynamic between what Matthias naturally is and Franny's sense of self. Franny's Node is in Gemini, who is an excellent, witty communicator and understands people well, but Matthias's energy is encouraging him to reject that lifestyle and embrace the dogmas, biases and prejudices that can happen when one who is meant to aquire knowledge for their community, only wants it for themselves.

Their Moons conjunct each other's by less than one degree in the 7th and 6th houses, causing an intense concentration of energy around relationships, health and work. They understand each other extremely well emotionally and may have had a similar upbringing (cough cough, this is such a strong indicator that they become siblings), particularly from their mother (the Moon often represents the mother, and the Sun the father). Matthias' Taurus Moon squares Franny's Leo Mars, which may show how Matthias' stubbornness always means that Franny is the one who has to change in order to accommodate him. As their Moons trine each other's Plutos, each being in the same earth signs, this creates a harmonic flow of stable, trusting energy between the two. They understand the darkness of each others' minds, the power struggles that each other have faced, and this brings about transformation whether for good or bad.

Now, another thing I want to talk about is asteroids—particularly Dejanira and Nessus. I'm fascinated by these two asteroids because people interpret them in such different ways, but all of them are striking, and I must find their purpose. Dejanira is commonly known as the victim (where/how/by who you are victimised) and Nessus is the abuser (signifying where either you tend to be most abusive, or where you tend to witness/experience abuse the most). They are not displayed on the chart that I've added on this page, but Franny's Dejanira is in 10th Leo, and Matthias' is in 6th Taurus. Franny's Nessus is in 5th Pisces, and Matthias' is in 4th Pisces. There aren't any aspects between their Dejaniras, but both their Nessuses conjunct the other's. Nessus in Pisces leads to a person who is obsessed with the subsconsious and everything that apart from reality, meaning they may turn to drugs or some form of escapism. Pisces is also the sign of your emotional self, it is sensitive and self-focused. This conjunction between the boys' Nessuses might mean that they are both prone to idealism within the creative sphere (Franny) and the home (Matthias). Matthias' abuse definitely occurred in his home, and perhaps is the results of generational trauma that has been hidden away... passed down through his family, from his uncle to Franny, and finally down to Matthias. He just suffers. Franny's creativity is not only used for good, but also to ensure that Matthias is "safe" according to his own ideas... always ensuring that Matthias pays attention to him and his mind.

Since I'm on the topic of asteroids, I also wanted to look at their Child asteroids. This is often the placement that people use to find where their inner child lies, as well as where any injuries to that child occurred, which can provide people with a sense of safety. Franny's is in 6th Taurus; Matthias' is in 3rd Aquarius directly on his Imum Coeli (which represents his roots, his sense of safety and home). Something I love about their Child aspects though is that Matthias' Child trines Franny's Mercury, which makes me think that Franny's social skills and way of communicating with Matthias as a child helped him in some way, even if Franny was only using that bond to satisfy his own needs.
